The YourFramer™ program allows you to frame online, using your computer, all your own artwork, photographs, needlework, etc.
The program is free, and anyone can use it to design their own frames.
These frames are then made to size of your picture, together with a mount, backing board and protective acrylic glass if needed.
This frame is then delivered to you…all you need to do is insert your picture.
YourFramer™ has a number of unique features which make it possible to produce “made to measure” picture frames for your images. These steps are easy to use with our program “Wizard” . You know exactly what to measure so that your frame fits your picture.
Here is what to look for when measuring your picture.
- For Photographs it is the measurement from the very edge of the image. Ignore any white surround area on your picture.
- For Needlework it is the measurement from the most outside row of thread, or the actual size, including any blank area, you would like the window mat to be cut.
- For Watercolours it is the measurement from the outer most painted area, or the actual size, including any blank area, you would like the window mat to be cut.
- For Canvas pictures on stretcher frames it is the measurement to the outer edges of the stretcher frame.
- When cutting your mats or making your frame, the YourFramer framing team will adjust the size of the mat opening and will add a clearance to the size of the frame.
Measure the exact size of your photo, painting, drawing or needlework. If framing with a coloured mount surround do not include any allowance for the sides of the mount to overlap the edge of your picture. The YourFramer™ framing team cuts the mount opening 5mm smaller across the height and width - thus taking off 2.5mm all the way around. This overlap secures your picture behind the mount.
The picture height and width are adjusted to maintain proportion. This is handy if you are not sure of your picture size. When entering the exact sizes of your picture, switch off this feature - uncheck the box.
To check the size of the image ...click the "Update Size " button ...if the proportions are not correct then change the numbers entered into the "height & width" boxes. When you are happy with the size of the image, click "Update Size " button and proceed to step 4.
How does the "Image Proportion" system work?
The Image Proportion system maintains a constant ratio between the height and the width.
If you wish to enter your own size, switch off the feature - uncheck the box. If you are selecting a frame only, then enter the size of the frame you require. When the frame is cut a 2mm clearance will be added so that your picture fits into the frame.
